YAV Program

The Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program is a ministry of the PC(USA) which offers a faith-based year of service for young people, ages 19-30, in 22 sites around the world and in the United States. YAVs accompany local agencies working to address root causes of poverty and reconciliation while exploring the meaning and motivation of their faith in intentional community with peers and mentors. YAVs serve during the academic year, August to July.

The Presbytery of New York City has hosted a program since 2015.

If you have any questions about the program or would like the YAVs to speak at your church or event about their work and the mission of the program, please contact our YAV Coordinator, Maureen Anderson.

The program is an ongoing ministry of the presbytery overseen by the Young Adult Volunteer Administrative Commission of the Presbytery of NYC.
